With a unique combination of experience in public accounting (13 years), investment banking (4 years), and business management operations (4 years), Rick Hayes advises closely-held businesses and high-net-worth individuals and families about their tax compliance/ planning, financial management, and long-range planning.
His primary industry concentrations include business and professional services, real estate, manufacturing, wholesale, retail, and technology. Other services essential to these industries that Rick provides to clients include financial reporting (reviews and compilations); sales, use, and local tax planning; mergers, acquisitions, and entity formation/ dissolution; and structuring of purchase/ sale/ leasing transactions.
Other practice areas in which Rick has developed specialization include exempt organizations and employee stock ownership plans (ESOP’s). Rick shares his non-profit expertise with the local community by serving as a board member or advisor to several Marin-based public charities.
Rick graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree (1983) and Dean’s List Honors (1982-83). Rick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He resides in Mill Valley.
